The JECI-MIEC European Coordination convened the European Committee in the beautiful city of Prague, Czech Republic, from November 14 to 17, 2024, marking a significant milestone in youth leadership and synodality for our times. This incredible gathering brought together young leaders from across Europe to engage in meaningful discussions and collaborative learning.

Highlights of the Gathering

• Study Sessions: Participants engaged in impactful discussions on the themes of youth leadership and synodality in today’s era, exploring innovative approaches to empower young people in their communities.
• Council Elections: The Council convened to elect the new European Team for 2025. We are pleased to announce the re-election of Teresa Gutiérrez Montero (JEC Spain) as the European Coordinator, alongside the newly elected members:
  • Emilia Straub (KSJ Germany)
  • Leonardo Persico (MSAC Italy)
  • Hannah Plückhahn (BKKH Germany)
  • Ramón Serrano Fernandez (JEC Spain)
  • Jan Krawczyk (KIK Poland)

This diverse team will lead the movement in the coming year, bringing fresh perspectives and enthusiasm.

Representation and Contribution

It was an honor for Secretary General of IYCS-JECI, Roshan Melwyn Lobo, to represent the International Secretariat and present the report during the gathering. His insights contributed to the vibrant discussions that highlighted the energy, ideas, and commitment of young leaders, former members, and advisors shaping the future of our movement.
