The National Youth Training Café, organized by YCS YSM India, was officially inaugurated on 17th May 2025 at the Shofar Convention Centre in Gurugram, under the Archdiocese of Delhi. The event, themed “Gen Z for a Self-Sustaining World – Voice of the Voiceless, Healthy Living, Sustenance,” brings together over 100 young leaders and animators from six regions across the country for a week-long training programme, scheduled from 17th to 22nd May 2025.

The first day commenced with the registration of participants, followed by an orientation session and an interactive ice-breaking activity that set a positive and enthusiastic tone for the days to follow.

The inaugural Holy Mass was solemnly celebrated by His Grace Archbishop Anil J.T. Couto of the Archdiocese of Delhi, concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Chetan Machado, National Chaplain of YCS YSM India, along with other priests from various regions. In his homily, Archbishop Couto inspired the participants with his words, “You are not just the future, you are the present too,” urging them to actively engage in shaping a better and more compassionate world. The liturgy was further elevated by the soulful choir led by the YCS YSM team of the Archdiocese of Delhi, which added a deeply spiritual dimension to the celebration.

The symbolic inauguration of the programme took place on 18th May with the hoisting of the national flag, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp in the auditorium. Distinguished guests present for the occasion included Sr. Mary Margaret, former YCS NEXCO; Rev. Fr. Chetan Machado, National Chaplain;
Mr. Roshan Melwyn Lobo, Secretary General of IYCS; Mr. Anson Nazareth, National Convener; along with several alumni, former chaplains, and former NEXCO members. Their presence reflected the strong continuity and commitment of past and present leaders in building and nurturing the YCS YSM movement.

The National Youth Training Café is set to be a transformative experience, equipping young participants with the tools and inspiration to lead, serve, and advocate for a more self-sustaining and equitable world. Through various sessions and activities, the training emphasizes leadership, sustainability, holistic well-being, and the enduring values of the YCS YSM movement.
