The International Young Catholic Students (IYCS) organized an international webinar as part of the ongoing series Walking the Path of See Judge Act. The session focused on the topic “From Parish, School, and University to Global Impact: The Role of YCS in Society” and was held on 13 September 2025 at 02:00 PM Paris Time via Zoom, with 41 participants joining from different regions. The webinar was moderated by Dr. Stefan Gigaz and featured Mr. John Siddham—Consultant, Mentor, former member of the IYCS JECI International Team (1982–1986), and Advisory Board member (2019–2024)—as the keynote speaker. The session began with a prayer led by Rev. Fr. Justo de la Fuente Fernandez M. Id.., International Chaplain of IYCS JECI.

In his keynote address, Mr. Siddham traced the historical evolution of student education from the Industrial Revolution to the digital era, illustrating how globalization, technology, and educational policies have influenced student experiences across generations. Drawing from his personal experience in Hyderabad, India, during the 1970s, he recounted how he expanded student groups from five to thirty two, focusing on literacy promotion and improving access to education for disadvantaged students. He emphasized the importance of students actively shaping their milieu through the See Judge Act method, showing that small individual actions, when multiplied, can create significant global impact.

The webinar also highlighted strategies to revive YCS engagement at parishes, schools, and universities. Speakers and participants, including Mr. Bobby from South Sudan and Mr. Vincent from Uganda, underscored the importance of chaplains, alumni networks, and small scale projects in building student participation and financial sustainability. They stressed that sensitization about YCS ideology and values should remain central to engagement efforts, rather than relying solely on financial incentives.

Reflections on YCS spirituality and its global impact were also shared, with Dr. Stefan acknowledging Mr. Siddham’s comprehensive overview of student movements over the past 150 years. The session concluded with remarks from Ms. Maria Consolata Edomobi, IYCS Africa Coordinator, and a prayer led by Fr. Anthony Makunde, IYCS Africa Chaplain. Participants were encouraged to reflect on their student contexts using the See Judge Act method, identify systems and structures shaping student life, and develop concrete actions to address current challenges.
