The International Young Catholic Students (IYCS), in collaboration with the Australian Cardijn Institute, successfully hosted an International Webinar on “The Mission Behind the Ministry: A Call to Transform the World” on March 8, 2025, at 14:00 (Paris Time), via Zoom. The session brought together leaders, members, and stakeholders from various national movements for an engaging discussion on faith, action, and social transformation.

Roshan Melwyn Lobo, Secretary General of IYCS, opened the webinar by welcoming participants and conveying  International Women’s Day wishes. The session was moderated by Dr. Stefan Gigacz, IYCW Leader and Secretary of the Australian Cardijn Institute, who set the tone for the discussion, emphasizing the importance of Catholic Social Teaching and mission-driven action.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Patricia Jones (Former YCS Leader (UK), Former Assistant General Secretary of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales, Former Deputy Director of CAFOD), who shared valuable insights on:
✔ The See, Judge, Act methodology and its role in social transformation
✔ The significance of synodality and walking together in faith
✔ The integration of Catholic faith into daily life
✔ Her personal journey in YCS and its impact on her commitment to social justice

The session featured a dynamic interactive discussion, where participants engaged with the speaker, sharing insights and asking thought-provoking questions.

Ms. Edomobi Maria Consolata, Africa IYCS Coordinator, concluded the session with a summary of key takeaways and officially announced the next webinar on April 12, 2025, at 14:00 (Paris Time), via Zoom.

The event concluded with a prayer led by Rev. Fr. Francis Chaplain from YCS Nigeria, invoking strength and guidance for all participants. The webinar witnessed active participation from IYCS regional coordinators, national movement members, and youth leaders, reinforcing the spirit of walking together in faith and action.
