All former IYCS members around the world are invited to the third IYCS Former Members Runion and the first virtual IYCS reunion on the theme: Intergenerational Co-responsibility in the Third Millenia – Whose Church? Whose World?

Dates: April 30 – May 1, 2022 

~ April 30  2 pm – 5:30 pm Central European Time

We all remember with joy the time we grew up in the IYCS movement and how the formation we received developed and strengthened us as People of Faith, as People of God, to live the Gospel – to be Church – in our everyday lives and in the world. Today, we see changes in our church and in the world. We see young people asking the same questions we asked ourselves but the context of the world has changed rapidly. How can we, as former IYCS members, engage with our young people today in dialogue on our theme  Intergenerational Co-responsibility in the Third Millenia – Whose Church? Whose World?

The following quest

ions will giude our discussions:

  • What kind of church do our young people want? What kind of world?
  • What are the key forces shaping our young people, our church, our world?
  • What recommendations do we have to support church and society leaders and lay faithful to transform our church and world?
  • How can former IYCS members play a role?

Day 2 May 1, 2022

Times will vary by region. Please take note. You may choose to join any regional reflection convenient to you. 

We will continue the reflection on the key areas identified in Day 1 in regional groupings to contextualise and provide more immediate responses. Each regional grouping will gather ideas on the following:

Based on perspectives and reflections shared on Day 1: the regional reflections will discuss: 

  • How can former YCS members offer the current YCS movement technical support and guidance in their current mission?
  • How can former YCS members contribute financial resources to sustain the work of the YCS movement at national, regional and international levels?
  • How can we foster an ongoing inter-generational dialogue and exchange between former and current IYCS members on urgent topics in our world? How can we develop a common agenda that we can act on?
  • How do we ensure local, regional and global coordination so that recent IYCS members moving on out of school/college remain connected. How can we reconnect with those who have lost touch for some time?
