GTS 2018 – #IYCS4SafeSchool Media Contest

School safety and security issues are a pervasive global issue with concerns ranging from poisonous snakes, spiders and centipedes to gang violence, molestation and bullying,
terrorism and devastating natural disasters. Hazards come in many forms and vary from country to country.

High profile acts of violence, particularly in schools, can confuse and frighten children and young people who may feel in danger or worry that their friends or loved-ones are at risk.
As students, the school is the place where we spend most of our time, where we learn and consider as our second home. It is in this place that we can encounter each other, growing
as men and women, starting to be good citizens for our country.

The notion of inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all which the SDG 4 seeks to achieve, for us go beyond just the educational program but
also implies the right for students to study in a place where they feel physically and emotionally safe.

A quality education can be found within the school where the students can really feel at home and where everyone’s diversity is welcomed and made unique. How can students
themselves become protagonist of a truly safe learning environment? Contribute to this global action for school safety by entering into the competition comprising of short documentary (3 – 10 Mins), Photo shoots, and graphical exhibition of the school safety situation and your proposed innovation for solution. Submit an entry on or before June 15, 2018.

The winning piece will receive full sponsorship to attend the IYCS global Training Session in Rome and 10 other piece will be selected and its Arthurs offered a 50% sponsorship to
