Here again is the day when we are all collectively united in solidarity of action as One Big Family of young people who are committed to the transformation of the world through Action –Reflection – Action

I am very happy to once again reach you as we prepare for the 2nd Commemoration of the International Young Catholic Students World Day (November 13) since it was instituted in 2015.

For YCS, being a Movement of young students who continue the engagement on the side of the sufferings and the oppressed, this occasion of the second commemoration of the IYCS World Day is a good opportunity to be united in mind and heart with those young people who have to endure one form of suffering or the other, those who are deprived of access to the basic necessity of life, especially those in war or crisis ridden areas like Syria.

In the spirit of our Global Campaign; “Protecting our Home” and our Plan of Action 2015 – 2019 which emphasis solidarity with other people towards achieving a world of peace and harmony, we would like to use the opportunity of this second edition of IYCS World Day to carry out Action (s) to show love and concern to all young people in Syria who have been affected or are being affected by the ongoing unrest in that part of the world.

In the light of this, we ask that all IYCS Movements around the world and IYCS members launch an Action on November 13 to show support for the people in the conflict zone, especially for young people in Syria. This could be a simple poster or painting with a message of solidarity, a video or song, a press release, a facebook Ad or big actions like collecting some resources to be sent as succor to them through the Apostolic Nuncio. Kindly update us on your actions to enable us collate them and ensure it reaches to the people for whom it was intended and that the world may also learn of your global solidarity actions.

Though we are many, but we are one family. Let us, as always be united in Love and prayers with our brothers and sisters in other parts of the world.

Should you need any help in planning an activity, kindly contact us and we will be glad to assist you.
