All is now set for the 1st SCA E(Earthkeepers)-Summit to be held in Tagbilaran City, Bohol from November 10 to 13, 2016. This is the 80th Anniversary culminating event of the Student Catholic Action of the Philippines.
The 1st E-Summit hopes to gather 300 student leaders, animators, chaplains and guests across the country and some from international organizations. The event will bear the theme, “Taking a Closer Look at Our Common Home with a Diamond and an Oak” which reflects a response to the call of our Holy Father from his encyclical, Laudato Si to happen within the two anniversaries – the 80th year of SCAP’s foundation and the Diocese of Tagbilaran’s 75th Jubilee Year.
Bohol has been chosen as the culminating site to recognize the Diocese of Tagbilaran’s large contributions into the life of the movement. It is the diocese that embraces the biggest number of SCA members all throughout the country and has the largest local SCAP organization in terms of membership, contribution of leaders and volunteers to the national secretariat and has the longest SCA diocesan coordination program in the country.
The SCA E-Summit will be a national youth ecological leadership immersion workshop which shall provide the youth leaders to see the adverse effects and impacts of climate change in a given community through structured programs and presentations.
Interactive workshops are designed for participants to learn from one another and to propose earth-keeping solutions and projects that they would like to adopt at the end of the summit.
You may send up to 5 official student representatives following our criteria for participation in the attached E-summit Poster. Chaplains and animators are welcomed. You can add more participants if there are still slots available after the deadline of confirmation.
More details are reflected in the attached E-summit Brochure.
Deadline of registration and payment of Solidarity Share will be on September 30, 2016. Please contact Frence Boiser using the information on the footer for more clarifications.
